Run, Run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!

Has your child been saying that at home recently? Well, I hope so because last week was filled with stories and activities about the Gingerbread Man. We read about 10 different versions of the Gingerbread Man, including one called, The Stinky Cheese Man.  Here are some of the things we did during the week and then on Friday we made our own Gingerbread cookies and took them to the cafeteria to bake.

Mmm, don't these cookies look great?! The kids really enjoyed decorating their own to bake.
When we were done we took them to the cafeteria in the morning to bake, BUT when we went back to get our cookies in the afternoon the gingerbread men were gone! The cafeteria ladies are telling us they tried so hard to catch them!

The gingerbread men left clues for us all over the school telling us where to find them...
Mrs. Hendrix is reading one of the clues...
Mrs. Williams is reading a clue outside on the flagpole. The gingerbread men were so fast!
Next, we had to go to the library, and then finally the clues lead us all to the principal's office. The kids were so happy to finally find the cookies!

I hope everyone enjoyed their cookies and learning about the gingerbread men. Parents, in class, each child wrote their very own story of the gingerbread man to take home. Ask your son or daughter to read it to you. :)
